Tuesday update: changes

Following is the email update I sent out this afternoon. Things have already changed since then: Honduras has imposed a Draft for all men ages 18 - 30, UN and the USA is siding with Mel and not with Honduras, Central America has put a freeze on trading with Honduras for the next 48 hours - not sure what this means to us. We're taking one day at a time and praying for wisdom.

** Email I sent out a few hours ago***

Thanks for all the prayers and love that you have been sending our way!

Just want to update you on the status of things. In general the country is pretty peaceful right now. There are demonstrations and rioting in the city so we're limiting where we go and when. There is a curfew in the evening and we've been sporadically loosing electricity but other than that haven't had any problems. We stand behind what the army and government have done here to protect the democracy and the rights of the people! Currently the exits from the city are closed by the military so we're not able to leave in that way.

God has been really good to us. There is panic among foreigners and we're really praying for peace and wisdom so that we do not act out of fear of whatever may happen but instead to listen to the voice of God and do what He wants us to do.

Today we were given money from a group of churches in Oregon so praise God we are buying a generator! We are stocked up on food and water and supplies and it's peaceful in our little town of Valley of the Angels.

Please pray for:
* Continued safety for us and our friends.
* We're attempting to get an extension on the truck and trailer visa's so that we do not have to leave the country by the 13th. Please pray that it comes through - if we don't get it, we have to drive to Mexico next week. :(
* My mom is coming on the 6th of July to visit me! Please pray that she will still be able to come & that my dad and brother can follow on the 19th as planned.
*The ousted president is returning on Thursday to the country with diplomats to try and regain power. Who knows what this will bring. Pray for a peaceful day and that the Honduran gov't would stand strong against him and the truth about him would be known!
* We are in the process of finding Skarleth's (one of the transitioning kids in our ministry) mom whom she was abandoned by as a baby. This is huge and difficult for Skarleth. Pray that this would create healing for Skarleth and that we would actually be able to find the mother.

We continue to pray with you in your ability to hear God's plan for you, and we stand with you in that calling. I now will pray for no fear, as He is with you and guiding you-most assuredly. He is Good, and does not stray from us or leave us. I pray also for your care and protection and to be invisible when you need to be. I trust you to His Ways and His place for you, (personally hoping its back here in US land). We get terribly skewed info here thru regular channels. Your updates are very helpful. thank you, Love Aunt Judy.
