Waiting on the Unknown

Today we found out that OAS has given Honduras 72 to give power back to Mel (ousted President) "or else there will be consequences." Current president - Micheletti - has said that as soon as Mel comes back he will be arrested and tried for the crimes that he has done and that Honduras will fight for freedom. There is a delegation going to Washington to try to explain to the UN and the U.S. (who has not heard the other side of the story) what is really going on and what Mel has been doing and how it was illegal. We'll see what comes of it. The 72 hours are up on Saturday and that is when Mel has now decided that he is coming back into the country. Bordering countries has closed trade with Honduras - no importing or exporting for a few days (hopefully no longer). There has been protesting and rioting throughout the country but thankfully they have not been violent.

Tristan spent the day running around town attempting to get passports for Skarleth and Santos. Neither of them got what they needed today. Skarleth was supposed to meet up with her mom for the first time ever (abandoned as a baby), but mom no-showed and sent the aunt. But we're still working on it. It's very hard to get legal paperwork for orphans so it's been a hassle.

Sigel and I spent the day at home painting our kitchen. I needed something to keep me busy and I've been wanting to paint. We painted two walls a bright canary latino yellow. I like it - it's nice a bright and fresh. It was nice to be home in the quiet and peace compared to the days we've been spending in the city with the craziness. Sigel was especially glad to have a day at home with just me - undivided attention. He gets overwhelmed when we're with lots of people all the time.

We have house guests tonight through Friday. A missionary family of 5 who lives in the city and needed to get away from it all. So they are here relaxing and enjoying some peace. My goal is to give them a place to relax and regain some balance after being under the stress they have been under. So our house is now up to 8 people - 4 dogs - 7 chickens... what's next? :)   Life is never boring that's for sure.
