Picture of a street in Downtown
The Catholic Church in Downtown
This last weekend we discovered downtown Tegucigalpa. It's a very busy area and has lots of one was streets so we took taxi cabs for the first time. We were able to barter down the price on the cabs and was even able to get tell the taxi how to get back home afterwards :). In the central park of the city there is a very very old Catholic Church that is beautiful! The inside of the church is decorated with wood covered with gold. So the entire front of the church is covered with gold plated sculptures etc. Unfortunately I was not able to take pictures of the inside due to a big sign that said "No Pictures". However above is a picture of the outside of that church. We then went shop looking. The stores are much much cheaper in downtown than in the malls so it looks like we'll be going down there for shopping from now on. We also passed the National Stadium which is great to know where it's at because we're planning on catching some futball games there soon!
