Summer Impact

Apparently I took an unintentional sabbatical from blogging...

Summers are always some of Tristan and my favorite time - for a few different reasons.

1. We have short term teams working alongside us ALL summer! This summer we had 10 straight teams (with one week off in the middle) - this was made up of 182 team members! It's fun to see our friends that we haven't seen for a year and it's fun to meet the new teams start building a relationship with them. It's amazing the camaraderie and connection you can feel with strangers when you have a common passion or cause uniting you. We have made very great friends on teams throughout the years - despite the fact that we only see them once a year.

Community Alliance Church from Richmond, CA.

The kids made friends with every team!

2. Community Outreach focused. As we've always said, teams are our energy source that allows us to do so much hands on ministry in the communities that we love - with these 10 teams, we installed 134 water filters, 25 latrines, 7 cement floors were poured, 6 VBS programs, a new roof on a house, built an adobe kitchen, and much more!  Being able to see all this get done in such a short amount of time is incredible!

25 latrines installed this summer!
Unfortunately our truck broke down and was out of commission
the rest of the summer.

Maddy & Ali LOVED having 6 VBS programs to attend throughout the summer!

134 filters installed just this summer!

 3. The rush!? Yes, as a staff we were all very tired by the end and ready for a day off, but all in all - WE LOVE IT! We love the challenge and seeing the results!

Tristan translated a lot of the sermons this summer and did a great job!
