Maybe you've never thought of it, but the rest of the world doesn't celebrate the 4th of July (or Thanksgiving).
The 4th is one of my favorite holidays and so it is so sad to miss the picnics, parades, celebrations, BBQ's, and fireworks. The 4th is also my mom's birthday and the 5th is my brothers so this holiday was always a big one for my family. How do you celebrate it outside the good ole' U S of A? We had Mandy and 'the kids' (the transitioning youth) over for a BBQ - hotdogs, potato salad, chips etc. We played cards and listened to Mom's patriotic music. My mom is still here visiting us so it was fun to have her for her birthday. In the afternoon we went to church and we were in bed before the fireworks would have even begun back at home. So I hope you enjoyed the fireworks for us :). I think the best part of the day was Madelyn's 4th of July outfit that Aunt Fran sent down for her :). The shirt says "Baby's First Forth". The sunglasses and hat only stayed on long enough for the photo :).
