Last week we spent most the week at El Ayudante - doing lots of finish work on the mission house. Sigel's teacher Heidi took 2 weeks off teaching because of a huge English equivelancy test she had to take to get into colleges in the states, so it was a good week to pack up and spend out there. Sigel and I worked on school in the mornings and helped work in the afternoons. Santos came out with us as well. It was a very productive time. The last 2 days we were there a work team from CEAD church (in Tegucigalpa) came out to work on the medical clinic. The group was mostly made up of 18-22 year olds and there were 31 in total. They didn't get into until 10pm on Friday night and then we stayed up until 1:30 playing games and all that. Tristan and I got up before 5am to be helping get breakfast prepared - it was a short night. Saturday morning they were able to lay 260 blocks on the medical clinic! This is was great progress and the with the help of our expert we are paying to do the clinic walls as we the money, the blocks were put on straight and the walls don't lean :). The team had a great attitude and it was really enjoyable to have them. It felt nice to be using the mission home that we've been working so hard on!
The Honduran school year is from February 15th through the end of November. So the last few weeks have been the start of school for Jorge, and the re-start of school ministries that Seeds of Change does - we're back at the feeding program and English classes. It's so nice to be back! I've missed seeing the kids and being at the school. Jorge is doing well. It's been quite an adjustment for him as he hasn't been in school for the last couple years. What's been weird for us is the amount of cancelled classes and teachers not showing up! He's had so many nights (his school is from 5pm to 9:30pm because he's over 18) where he's come home super early saying that none of his teachers showed up. So once again we're in the position of learning lots about Honduras culture and the in's and out's of life here.

Thanks for the update! We're praying for you. While we wait for snowpack to melt and new life to appear it's always good to "travel" back to Valle.
