Where is my passport?!?!

Since last summer we have had a Disney World vacation planned with the Mohagen's. Thursday morning we started to pack as we were leaving early Friday morning...except...Tristan couldn't find his passport! So all day Thursday we searched the house high and low, the truck, the house again, the truck again - we looked everywhere ALL DAY!!!! Tristan went to the embassy and they said they couldn't do anything until the next day. So by 11pm we weren't packed and still didn't have his passport which meant we weren't leaving. The airlines were going to charge us $100/ticket to move it to the next day or $150/ticket to use it at a different time. Friday morning we got to the embassy by 7:30am to wait in line, and hopefully get an emergency passport and still make our 2:50 pm flight. We have friends that work in the embassy so they all came and said hi which was fun. We finally received the passport at 10:20am - and we had 4 hours to go to the airport (not including construction traffic) and had to be there to check in at 12:50 to check in. Tristan drove so fast! Throughout the course of the 4 hours we passed 200 cars - yes I was counting - and we got to the airport at 2:20! Tristan parked while I ran in and begged to be put on the plane. She finally consented & let us through since we only had carry-on luggage. So we raced through paying our exit fee, through the luggage check, ran to the gate, and it turns out they were delayed boarding and we were actually the first people on the plane! Within 26 minutes we were on plane and laughing in amazement that we actually made it on the plane!

We are now in Orlanda Florida with the Mohagen's having a great time playing at Disney World and enjoying each other's company. This afternoon we are driving to go watch the space shuttle lift off!!!! We're excited about that!

oh - one more thing. It was been harder than we thought it would be to jump back into U.S. life in some aspects. Things like drinking out of a drinking fountain, throwing toilet paper in the toilet and not in the garbage, hearing English all over the place, and paying an arm and a leg for food has all been things to re-adjust to. But it has been fun to eat Peanut Butter M&M's, bagels, etc. :)
