Rejoice in the Lord Always!

I have read a book - actually I read it twice AND took notes on it - it was that good. It's called "Crazy Love" by Francis Chan. Amazing and very inspiring. It talks all about how amazing the love of God is and how we are supposed to be loving people radically. That we are called to a radical life and that often we have amnesia about how great God is and the life that he's called us to live. Instead of living like we really believe that He loves us and has the best in mind for us, we live like we need to take care of ourselves and we give Him our leftovers. Amazing book - one of those books that I really want to put into practice.

Yesterday was a hard day. We found out the pink house that we thought was ours, is not. The owners emailed us and said they would not be able to rent to us. Sad Day. Back to square one of house hunting. Also, the truck broke - apparently the clutch needs to be replaced. Bummer. So it's in the shop already. I guess in Honduras what they will do is take the truck apart - get the part that is broken and drive around to replacement stores and ask if they have that part in stock. So this could take a while. So, with all this, I've been whining. Then a part in the book "Crazy Love" came back to me this morning:

" When I am consumed by my problems - stressed out about my life, my family, and my job - I actually convey the belief that I think my circumstances are more important than God's command to always rejoice. In other words, that I have the right to disobey God because of the magnitude of my responsibilities. WORRY implies that we don't quite trust that God is big enough, powerful enough, or loving enough to take care of what's happening in our lives. STRESS says that the things we are involved in are important enough to merit our impatience, our lack of grace toward others, or our tight grip of control."

So, I'm choosing to change my attitude and have joy and peace and know that God is in control. oh - then this morning while I was praying and dealing all of this, our boss from one of the ministries sent me a text with Romans 8:27-28. " Vs 28 says: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." She did not know what had happened.

So - choose to walk today in the joy of the Lord and stop worrying - it won't do any good. :)

Gotta go - I'm off to spanish lessons and then we pick up a team from the airport to go and work for the week on a construction site! :) how fun!

Oh Beth - You are so right. Do we really believe God is as capable as we say He is?? Our lives (politacal, and finacial situations) are in His mighty hands. Thanks for the reminder.
Love you so much. Mom
