On Thursday 10-4 we went to a local soccer game the two teams are both from here in Tegucigalpa so they are huge rivals. this made the game very exciting. the teams are "Montagua" and "Olimpia," Olimpia is the more popular team. lots of the teachers are Olimpia fans so i (Tristan) decided to be a Montagua fan!!! I bought a jersey at the game for $8. the fans were crazy! We sat in the expensive seats (a wopping $10) and we had a fenced off area with seats. the rest of the stands were concrete bleachers and there were tens of thousands of fans there around 50,000 people. The Olimpia fans were awesome!!! they chanted and jumped for the whole game. between the Olimpia fans and the Montagua fans must have been 25 or more Police in riot gear. there were lots of cops there which was good but a little concerning. so the best news... My team won, Montagua won by 1 goal. after the game some of the Olimpia fans acted out and the cops started going after them with clubs and sticks it was crazy. the whole experience was awesome we had a great time it has been one of the highlights of the trip.
