Day 12
We slept in until 7am (such a difference from 4am) and headed to the border. We spent the entire day (until 4:30pm) waiting around and talking to different people for our stuff to be cleared and to be able to leave. It was very long and more tiring than the 17 hour day of driving. We were so happy to leave the border and start driving! Due to the heavy rain that Honduras received this fall, there were many roads washouts, fallouts, and many many potholes. One such pothole did our trailer in. There was a big sound and the feel of the trailer was different. We stopped at a gas station, Tristan jumped out to check the trailer and we had a flat and the axle was in the wrong spot. God provides so well - we turned around, and the gas station happened to have a hotel... and the owner of the place was there and told us we could park our ARK and truck in the locked parking lot in the back. So we stopped for the night - because it was raining and dark, we could do much.
We ate Chinese food (which is typical to Honduras believe it or not) and turned in for the night.
