I went to Minnesota around the 20th to spend time with my friend Chelsea. We had a great time! I took a red eye and she drove all night to the airport so we were really tired! The first day there I went out to coffee with Heather, a friend from High School who now is a teacher in S. Korea. It was so nice to talk to her - we related so well since we both are trying to live and integrate into another culture. It was great! I got to see Chelsea's house and hang out with Aiden (her son) whom I haven't seen since he was 6 months old - now he's 3!
Thursday we took off to Duluth and and walked by Lake Superior and Canal Park. We met up with Kristy, another friend of ours from high school who now lives in Indiana, and we played all evening long. I can't remember the last time I laughed as much as I did that day. We reminisced about all the time we spend together working at camp and other things. It was so fun.
Friday we drove to the twin cities and went to the Mall of America and walked around. After a full afternoon/evening of shopping we went to a comedy club and laughed a lot! Funny stuff. Unfortunately we got lost for an hour after that which was quite frusterating!
Saturday we slept in, went to the Renaissance Festival and watched Scottish men through Cabers and Gypses BellyDance and lots of people in costumes walk around chewing on Turkey legs. My sisters In-laws have a jewlery booth there so we stopped in and saw them which was fun. We then jumped over to Valley Fair (huge amusement park) and ran around like junior highers trying to get to as many rides as we could in the short 5 hours we were there! It was great. THEN... we went home and changed and went out dancing for a few hours.
Sunday we slept in, packed up and Chelsea dropped me off at my aunt and uncles house. I spend the afternoon with my grandma, aunts, uncles, and cousins. It was so nice to see them and spend time with them! I haven't seen some of my cousins in many years so it was fun to get to know them again. They then dropped me off at the airport and I was met in the airport with chocolate and flowers and a big card with pictures... I have a great husband!
While I was gone, Tristan had a busy week of work. He also went to the Italian Heritage Night Giants Game and got a cool beeny. On Friday he went out Karaoking with his relatives he hadn't seen in a while and had a great time singing and hanging out.
