We haven't posted this last week because there hasn't been anything incredibly exciting happening. Yes - we have actually been working and not playing all week :).

This next week is the end of the quarter and so this last week Tristan volunteered himself to make the testing schedule for the high school and junior high and that took a lot of time! Honduras also has very strict rules for the quarter testing such as there has to be 5 different methods of testing in the test, True and False questions can only be worth one point each and you cannot have more than 10 questions. Anyways... the department of education in Honduras is very picky and this creates a ton of work for the high school teachers so Tristan has been working hard all week preparing for testing tomorrow on.

I'm still working away in 4th grade. Learning division with remainders and about what a comma is. I'm starting to enjoy it more - at least I'm having more good days than bad. I'm getting a new student tomorrow - that makes 27! Unfortunately they do not have enough books for her so this means I have to make copies of stuff - and this is too bad... 'gafas del oficio" (means: whatever, it's part of life).

We are taking Spanish lessons and they're going alright. There is so much to learn and my brain just can't take it all in! But I'm working on it and slowly but surely hopefully I'll start to use it in everyday life. We really take advantage of our spoken language - how we don't even think about English's irregular verbs or when to use past participle or imperfect (yep - that's in our language :) ). Spanish is the same and wow - they have a lot of irregular verbs to memorize!!!

We found an English speaking church and we're really loving it. It's so nice to be able to worship and know what you're singing, and to listen to a sermon without an interpreter. The people there are very friendly. Sounds like they play volleyball on Thursday nights so we're going to check that out sometime soon.

This Friday we had Rocio (the teacher that took us to Northern Honduras) and her family over for dinner. It was a lot of fun and they even liked the N. American food that I cooked :). We had to eat on our laps because our place is so small and we only have two chairs and a very small table. We then played Uno. They are a really great family and we had a great time being with them. Alejandro (4years old) came and that was very fun to have him with us. Alejandro and Tristan really like each other.

This week my Dad and sister are coming to visit us for a couple days on their way to Guatemala to do some preaching. We're really looking forward to picking them up and showing them around our new life. Melissa going to help in my class for a day we're going to take them to all the great food places.

Hm... I think that's it for now. Hope you all have a great week! Love, Beth and Tristan
