*** This is just one of many vendors at the Farmers market that we go to on the weekends for our fruits and veggies. ***
We had a great weekend last weekend being tour guides for my (Beth) Dad and Sister. They came in on Thursday and we gave them the grand tour of the school and our apartment. We then took them to one of our favorite restaurants and ordered for them (all the good Honduran food of course!). We then showed them one of our malls - to show them how truly modern Tegucigalpa is (the malls here are nicer than the ones in Richmond or Oregon). My Dad was impressed with the 8 Dunkin' Donuts in the one mall. :) Friday I put both my Dad and sister to work in my classroom. Melissa worked on grading spelling tests and helping kids with math and later my Dad read a story to my class. My class really enjoyed all the attention from my family! After school we took them to Centro (downtown) and also to the farmers market where we bought great fruits of Honduras to let them taste. I think Dad was worried when we bought cheese from a guy in the market. I then cooked them traditional Honduran Enchiladas (more like Tostadas in the US). Saturday my Dad was sick so we took Melissa up to a village that has great souvenirs. Saturday night we all went to church which I think they really enjoyed. Unfortunately Sunday at 4 am came way too early and they had to catch the bus to Guatemala where my Dad is preaching this week. So... although it was a short visit, it was really great to see them and show them around!
Can you not wait until Christmas? Well here they have started advertising and decorating for Christmas in September. The malls have huge trees and have Christmas music blarring. The people at the check-outs in the grocery stores are all wearing Santa hats. Christmas apparently arrives very early here. Ho Ho Ho!
1st Quarter is officially over! We began the 2nd quarter of school yesterday. Crazy how quickly the time flies!

The picture of you and Melissa makes me cry. I am so glad they were both able to visit. God is so good to us. Being able to visit makes the world seem so much smallter. I agree with Jen, keep blogging. People are watching even though they do not comment.
