We've been back in Honduras now almost a month and the time has flown by. We have mostly been focused on preparing for a work team of 35 people that are coming in this afternoon. They will be essentially building 2 houses - a staff house and a guard house. It's going to be a really exciting time watching these houses come to completion in one short week. Please be praying for us as there is a lot going on! Pray for safety, for all the details to pan out, for us to have plenty of water and electricity when needed, and mostly that we would be a light in that community!
We also have some big news to share with you regarding our ministry here in Honduras. As you know we have been sharing our time between two ministries. Since being back here this last month we've had some unexpected changes and have realized that we do not fit with Seeds of Change any longer. The vision & direction of Seeds of Change for 2011 is a lot different than when we started with them 2 years ago. Because of these changes, and the difficulty in juggling 2 ministries, the timing is right for us to focus on El Ayudante. This has been a difficult decision for us, however as we've been praying and seeking counsel we have decided that it is time to work full time with El Ayudante. Please understand this is bittersweet for us - because we are so excited about working full time with El Ayudante -(oh the places the ministry could go!) but also sad (yet at peace) with knowing our time with Seeds of Change is over. We do still believe that our passion to help orphans is not in vain and God will use that - we're just waiting to see where and how.
So all that said, we are moving closer to El Ayudante. El Ayudante is currently 3 hours from our house - way too long of a commute and separates our family a lot. A move is always hard - leaving our friends, Sigel's school, and our church. But we are really excited about pouring into El Ayudante - about seeing the medical clinic finished, establishing community work around the project, and facilitating lots of teams. This change is coming at a great time as the Board of Directors of El Ayudante is part of this team that is arriving today and we will be able to dream with them about how to advance with El Ayudante and then start to put those dreams into a reality in the upcoming months!
Our desire is to serve Jesus - wherever that may be. For this season it will be El Ayudante and we will keep you informed as we find out exactly what that looks like. In the meantime please be praying for our move and our establishment in our new community. More info coming as we find out ourselves.
Thank you for loving and supporting us as we daily strive to bring glory to Jesus. That's really what it comes down to in the end - Glorifying Jesus!
