Homecoming

I just have to say that I hate how we travel - even though it seems necessary. We travel to the MAX everytime - so this time we were coming into the airport with 2 huge carts full plus we were carrying stuff. we had 6 50lb suitcases (duffles because they carry more :) ). plus 2 rolling carry-ons, 1 duffle, 2 backpacks, and 1 babybag. yes that's us - oh and did I mention that I carry Madelyn so Tristan is like a workhorse trying to do it all. Pretty ridiculous but there are so many things that are half the price or cheaper if you buy it in the States and there are lots of stuff you just can't get here - add to that CHRISTMAS and we're in for it :). So it's 3 days later and I'm still unpacking - but making good progress considering I've been sick and had to put away Christmas. I only have 3 more 50lb bags to unpack :).

The flight is a red eye and I must say I think I'm getting old :). ha ha. not just because it's an all nighter but we're up all day the day before packing and running around doing all the last minute things we didn't fit in, then we travel all night (trying to get maddy to sleep well so we don't) and then we get in in the morning and we're up all day until bedtime. we went to bed by 8:30 that night - as soon as we got our kids to bed.

The actual flight went great - no problems (besides the chaos of our luggage and maddy). Madelyn does really well on the planes - so far we haven't been the ones with the crying baby. I think it'll be harder when she wants to crawl and walk around and can't. The fun part of the flight is the landing at Tegucigalpa airport - it's supposedly the shortest runway in the world and there is often problems landing there - there's been one big crash since we've been here when the pilot overshot the runway and ran into houses and there are many times when planes to touch and go's due to overshooting it. When you come in to land it's amazing because it feels as though the wings are going to touch the houses on the hill sides - that's how close the plane must go to the hills. Tegucigalpa is a valley surrounded my mountains and the whole place is very hilly.

So we're home and happy to be home. Trying to catch up on everything that happened while we were gone and preparing for a huge construction team that we have in 2 1/2 weeks. Tristan's already been out to the project to check on the well being done and the buildings that are being built and it's going well. It's so great to be back with Sigel - we really missed him. and it's just nice to be back in our own beds and house!
