Christmas visiting

We've been in the States since the 17th. Unfortunately Sigel couldn't come with us because we couldn't get him a visa - we tried and tried but we don't have the paperwork that we need in order to get it. So Tristan, Madelyn, and I are in the States to catch up on family, enjoy the Holidays, and do some fundraising for our 2011 budget. So far its been a very full and fun time!

The first week we were home we were with Tristan's family. On the 18th we celebrated our 5 year anniversary!!!! we went to Jack London Square and went out to dinner and to a comedy club. It was hard for me to leave Madelyn for so long as she has hardly left my side in her 7 months but the grandparents were great babysitters and we all survived. (Actually I think i could get used to a little time away from her every once in a while :) ). Tristan got me flowers and we each gave each other rings - I lost the ring he proposed to me with so he got me a duplicate and he had lost his wedding ring and was using a fake fair ring so I got him a new ring as well.

We also spent a lot of time with family - we did lunch with Tristan's Uncle Rick and Great Aunt Mary, did dinner with his Jewish aunt and uncle, and then celebrated Christmas Eve with Tristan's dad extended side and Christmas Day with his Mom's extended side. His sister Jenny was up from Arizona for almost a week so she got a lot of Maddy holding time! Madelyn has done so great meeting so many people and surprisingly she is letting a lot of people hold her which is a miracle - the week before we left she wasn't letting anyone hold but me.

We are now in Oregon visiting with my family. It's a lot quieter up here - mostly because we don't know as many people so when we're up here we're just relaxing with my family. It's been great to all be together. We went shooting (my bro-in-law is a cop so he has lots of cool guns to shoot) and all the boys really loved that. We've also celebrated Christmas, played games, went crabbing, gone on walks, and eaten way too much fabulous food.

Sigel is staying with friends of ours and seems to be doing pretty good. He says he misses school - which starts again next week, and I know he's missing being home and being with us. It's hard to be separated - we had family pictures yesterday and he wasn't here to be in them. :(

While here we're speaking at churches and meeting with the wonderful people that allow us to minister in Honduras. Without them supporting us financially we wouldn't be there - so it's been so fun to meet with them all and attempt to thank them in mere words for the generosity that they have and to share with them where there money is going to and what is happening in Honduras. It's so hard when the words "thank you" sound so small compared to their BIG generosity. So if you're one of our supporters - THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts.

Another new year...wow - I can't wait to see what's in store for this year - last year was so full and here we are starting a new one. I think there should be a few days in between each year to give us time to reflect and prepare for the next one :).
