Happy Easter! Although spring might be just 'in the air' where you are, we are full blown into summer here in Honduras - including 90-100 degree weather and water shortages due to lack of rain.
Tristan and I just got back from a great time visiting with family and seeing a few of you all in the states. Unfortunately our time was not long enough to be able to see you all. The real reason of our trip was to be a part in my brother Daniel's wedding. The wedding was fabulous and the family time surrounding it was priceless. We felt like we were really able to relax and not think about work every second of the day. It was a nice reprieve and it brought us back ready to go again! While we were gone Sigel spent his time with 2 great friends who took very good care of him. Jorge did well with his responsibilities and attending school.
This week is Semana Santa (Holy Week) which means that everyone has the week off - traditionally to celebrate the significance of Easter - however sadly it has mostly turned into a big party week. Sigel and Jorge are both very happy to have a week off school. Jorge has spent half the week visiting his family in another area of Honduras and SIgel has enjoyed many trips to the pool, bike rides, and relaxing at home. Yesterday we, as a ministry, went to the local water park - the kids were thrilled and this was a first for many of them to go down a slide or be in a wave pool. Good times had by all :).
Great news about El Ayudante - we have all the money needed for putting up the rest of the walls and support beams for the the medical clinic! Praise God! So in the next month the entire clinic should be ready for the next steps - roof, plumbing, and electrical! We also have someone working on the pump that is stuck in mud at the bottom of the well - please be praying that they can get the pump out and fixed soon! It's very exciting to see all the progress as the mission house is now completely secured and very close to being finished as well!
Our daughter will be joining us in only 9 weeks - or whenever she decides to make an appearance. June 1st is fast approaching and we're starting to get the pre-parent jitters. Thanks to lots of generous people, we brought home a mountain of clothes and supplies with us from the states so we're pretty set. I'm still feeling pretty good - there are some annoying pregnancy symptoms but mostly I don't mind them - feeling her wiggle and kick makes all the annoying ones worth it :). Tristan has started building the crib so that's exciting!
Prayer Requests:
* Honduras is in a drought with a huge water shortage. Everyone is rationing water and praying for rain. The water reserves will run dry in less than 60 days. Traditionally we start to get rain in May - pray that we get rain early and lots of it! Rationing water is a new experience in the Mohagen house - every flush counts :)
* For a healthy last 2 months of pregnancy - that our daughter would grow strong and healthy, for me to know when to slow down, for wisdom as we make decisions about the delivery.
* Sigel's adoption paperwork - progress is being made. Please pray for faster progress as deadlines are coming up and paperwork needs to be done faster! Praise: Sigel's schooling is going great - his English is amazing. He's starting to grow up and enter pre-teens! Yikes!
* Next week Tristan will be importing the truck - we finally have all the paperwork back from the lawyers and this should be the last of it. Pray that he gets it done easily without more hiccups. The process involves him going to the El Salvador border to collect a piece of paper and than many many hours sitting at the importing office.
* Jorge is enjoying school and has made some friends up here in our pueblo. He is now starting to look for a part time job - however they are hard to come by. Please pray that the right door opens and he does get a job! Pray that he would become more self-motivated.
* El Ayudante - for the pump to be pulled and repaired quickly, for us as we begin to plan for our 3 summer teams, for the clinic walls to be completed well.
* Seeds of Change - for financial doors to open - we need land! our initial need is $100K - but God is bigger than that so we know it can happen!
We now have a PO Box which we can receive letters and packages! Don't send anything too valuable as sometimes boxes are opened. NO MONEYbecause we would never get it (although some customs agent would be very happy with you!).
