We have two pollitos!

Last week when we were working on the mission house in Comayauga, I spent a lot of time talking to a woman named Viriginia. In our conversation chickens came up and I told her that we were wanting to have chickens. (we have a chicken coop at our house.) So, she said she would give me two of her chicks! Yippee! Yesterday we were back out at the site framing in windows and ripping boards (like in the strongest man competition = j/k!) and she came and gave me two chicks. I can't decide what to call them - Kentucky and Fried, Pot and Pie, Crispy and Fingers....i don't know - we're still working on the name thing. Our plan is to add to our 'flock' another 10 or so. Right now they're so small that they can get out of the fenced coop... so they're roaming our yard right now. Oh - and if you've ever heard Max (our dog) whine before - which he does all the time - we just figured out that he got that from Chicks - he sounds just like them :).

We're working with a rotary club and a church in Oregon on a purified water project. They are wanting to pay for water filters for families and villages that don't have such thing and are drinking really bad water. This is really exciting and there are so many that are getting sick from lack of clean water. So we are learning a lot about water filters etc. We're hoping to buy some for some families that we know near the project in Comayauga.

Um...other than that, life goes on. Spanish lessons, fixing up our house, working out in Comayauga, starting to build tables for the mission house, on the worship team, teaching English, Studying Spanish, getting materials and quotes.... and so on.

We have a U.S. phone number that rings here that you can call us for the cost of a US long distance phone call: 541.234.6494

Chickens are great. But they poop everywhere. Keep 'em cooped up! I will be calling you this weekend.
