LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!

Above: The bubble I we had in the classroom for the kids to play with
Below: Some of my class - I can't believe how many hours I clocked in with those kids! I saw them more hours a day than I slept!

Below: me and Adrianna - she's so fun to be with!

Below: Tristan and John - everyone says that they look like brothers...

Today was the last day of school! It's really weird to think that on Monday when we go to school we'll only have a few kids to tutor but we won't have class. My room is now empty - nothing on the walls - most of my things are packed in boxes - not that i had that much. I tried my best to teach to the end so we even did math today - the kids weren't too happy about that but oh well. Then we had a big party and had Pizza and the kids brought in so much junk food. It was very fun. My friend Becky made a giant bubble made out of black garbage bags taped together and then you connect it to a fan and it blows up and then you can sit in it. So I brought that to school and we played in it - it was very fun and they thought it was soooo cool. I have mixed emotions - i'm sad about being done, but also relieved because it's so tough teaching. Tristan also had a big party with his kids after their finals today and that went good - they all wanted to sign his shirt but since he didn't want to ruin his shirt they all signed his arms so he's covered in autographs - looks funny :). Next week we are tutoring our students that failed and then we give them another test - if they pass that test then they go on - it's like a second chance.... we can not leave a child behind in Honduras too. We give them SO MANY chances!

We've had some awesome storms the last week - we left a window open and came home to a soaked couch - oops. Last night the streets were like rivers - there really isn't anywhere for the water to go so when it rains, the streets are terrible and the traffic is insane!

Tristan's been sick for about a month with a sinus/ear/nose/throat/cough/ fever thing that we've gone to the doctor for many times. Well, since he wasn't getting better we went to a specialist yesterday. After waiting for the doctor to show (our appt was at 4:00 and he didn't show up until 5:00), the doctor put a camera through Tristan's nose - into his ear canal, his sinuses, and his down his throat - there was at least 16 inches of cord through his nose! It was really cool to watch the screen and see the inside of his head - but I"m so glad that it wasn't me!~ :). So, the doctor loaded him up with drugs and we'll see how's he feeling in a few days.

Last Saturday we had a party/BBQ at our house - there was about 35 people here. It was a great time of hanging out, BBQing Honduran style and being able to host something now that we have a bigger home.

3 weeks from today and we'll be on a plane heading to San Francisco - crazy to think of it. We're looking forward to seeing people - it's been too long.
