I was realizing the other day as I was at the outdoor market - where we buy our fruits and veggies- that all the of the things that used to be very strange and out of place are now normal to me. It is now odd to hear other people speaking English (unless they are with us), I can pick out a 'gringo' in the grocery store in seconds. Greeting everyone with a kiss - normal. There were women walking around with baskets on their head and I thought nothing of it, expect wondering how far they were walking. It's now normal to have people wash your windows at the stop lights as they beg for money. I don't turn every time I hear honking because someone is always honking! Yesterday we went to a fast food restaurant for lunch and, as is normal here, we were served like we would be at any sit down restaurant - waitress and all. I wonder how strange it will be to leave Honduras and have these norms no longer be norms. Hmm... don't really want to think about it yet. I like most of the norms here. The city, the people, the houses, the food, it's what it is and it's great. I guess it's hard to put into words what I'm thinking.
This week has been busy with different things. Tristan started co-coaching the junior high soccer team at school with Joel and Jonny. They are practicing two days a week and that's been really fun for Tristan. The kids here are so out of shape and whine a lot about running so Tristan is pushing them a lot (and then the next day he's really sore). So he's really liking that. I think the games start in two weeks or something like that.
Friday night we babysat over night for our friends Rocio and Arturo. They are the family that at the beginning of the year took us to the beach and their family took care of us - well, we were able to return the favor. It was their 5th wedding anniversary so they took off for the night and we hung out with Alejandro and Valarie. It was by far the easiest babysitting job I've ever done because their maid/nanny was there and she did everything. I felt so bad because she cooked and took care of the kids and we just played with them and hung around. She cooked amazing Honduran food for us and then when Valerie cried during the night I went to get her but Emily was sleeping with her so she was already taking care of her. Oh well, it was fun to be with the kids and it gave Rocio more security that we were there 'in case.'
Tonight we are having a super bowl party which should be fun. We didn't get the word out soon enough for it to be a huge party but regardless, it'll be fun.

Love to hear how life is becoming normal. You have made a wonderful life in a strange world. God has more cool adventures for you two. Remember that you are the cream of the crop!! Good to hear that Tristan has made friends outside of work. I wish babysitting was always that easy. Maybe we should all hire a maid/nanny!!
Love you and pray for you more than you know!!
