We bought tickets!

It's official, we are not coming home for Christmas. Most days I'm happy with Christmas plans, but then other times it's very sad to think of missing family Christmas and the opportunity to see people and be in the States. But... now there's no turning back, we have our tickets to travel Central America.
Our last day of school is the 19th. We fly out on the 20th from Tegucigalpa to San Jose, Costa Rica (capital) which is the hub for a lot things to see. Costa Rica has a lot of national parks and great junglish things to see. We'll take a bus to La Fortuna, which is a huge, beautiful active volcano that spits out lava every night. So, we'll spend time there and at the lake nearby. This time we're probably not going to the coast of Costa Rica, our goal is the jungle, the waterfalls, and the volcano. Seems like there is a lot to see and we're hoping to do a lot of hiking. Maybe hang with some monkey's or something. :) We'll be there 10 days then we'll hop over to Panama City. (Geography lesson) Panama City is on the Pacific Ocean side of the Panama Canal and so we'll be touring that area, and then following the canal to the Atlantic Ocean outlet. Sounds like Panama is beautiful and I'm sure we'll find lots of stuff to do. We'll be there for 7 days and then we fly back to Tegucigalpa for a day of washing clothes before school starts the next.

We're pretty excited and relieved to finally have our tickets and plans set. Amazingly, all these plane tickets are significantly less that it would be for us to go home. We've found some cheap hostels that we're hoping to stay at that is nearby the canal and the volcano.

Everything is going pretty good. The kids are getting crazy and we're all blaming it on the fact that Christmas is in the air. We are practicing for the big Christmas program. The program is such a big deal that we are now having two half days of school to prepare for it. Crazy.

We're house sitting for the missionary couple again starting tonight. They have a washer and dryer and full size oven! :)

Hope that everyone is doing well. Sorry that we won't be able to celebrate Christmas with you. We're thinking of you guys and miss you! Love, Tristan and Beth

yay for ticket purchases! i'm still on to the fact that you guys going to Honduras has nothing to do with being called to teach, but rather being called to travel ;) sounds like you guys are going to have a fantastic time doing this, it will be awesome, i know it. forget Christmas at home, i am sure everyone wishes we could be there with YOU. so, i have some gifts to send which i haven't yet and now reading the dates you are leaving, i'm not sure where/how i should send them... let me know! (Some are perishable delicious treats if you know what i mean)
