Well we Got up early after a rough night sleep made breakfast and headed off to find the "Mystery Bus" called so because no one will tell you that it exists. The tour guides all want you to pay $15 for a ride to the park and the bus got us there for only $1 each. Well it got us close then we hitched a ride the rest of the way from an empty tour bus. The park had a very nicely maintained trail but just one trail. We walked a couple of kilometre and the were able to climb on the lava flow from 1992. It was really neat to know how "fresh" the lava was often you walk on ancient stuff. From the lava rocks we could see the volcano and we saw boulders tumbling down the mountain it looked like little puffs of white smoke as the boulders skipped down the mountain. I could actually see one or two of the rocks and they skipped like 50-100 feet high. it was really cool to see the active volcano. Not only could we see the activity but we could hear the volcano rumble and growl which was awesome. I really liked the volcano it was great. we continued on the trail and crossed a river and saw more forest. On the way back we sat and watched the volcano more and saw lava (steam) coming out of the top ...AWESOME. on our way home we hitchhiked 3 times it was neat we felt like real adventurous travelers. once we got back we crashed and took a hour nap, then i made dinner and we called home. Tomorrow we head to Monte Verde, the only was to get there is by a boat ferry.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE TO ALL
We Love You
