Life Update

Some blurbs from our life:

Each day is a little different as we strive to glorify God through everything we do.

Drumroll Please....... last Monday we received Sigel's immigrant visa!!! This has been one of the longest, most trying process that we've ever been a part of - the waiting, unknown, paperwork, 'no's' and closed doors that God then opened, etc. However I am sure of one thing - this process has brought us closer to Jesus. We have had to depend more on Him, rest in His peace a midst the unknown, and know that He knows better than we do. Our faith is stronger, His love is clearer. We are working on travel plans to come to the US as a family for the FIRST TIME!

These kiddos love doing life together and, as a mom, I'm so happy that they are growing up with substitute cousins since theirs are far away.

Meet Mercedes: we've known him and his family for a few years now and have integrated our lives with there's. Reina watches the girls for a couple morning's a month - they love it and spend their time eating tortilla's and playing around her yard with the neighbor kids. Maddy & Ali's spanish has significantly improved because of it! Mercedes has been on staff at El Ayudante (EA) for a year - through the help of a loan, he is now branching off to start a new business with his recently purchased moto-taxi - being the transportation for the clinic patients! Seeing his family grow and develop into leaders into the community has been wonderful! Both Mercedes and Reina can often be found doing Spiritual Care in the clinic.

Community Leadership: Every Monday afternoon Tristan and I meet with a group of local leaders (one group pictured above) to discuss the challenges going on in the community, plan solutions, and work through leadership articles and Spiritual growth. It not only is a time of growth for them, but also for us as we are delving all the deeper into the culture and their thought processes and habits. Our new committee of leaders (from the community of Cascabeles) are excited about dreaming for the betterment of their community - and boy do they have great dreams - to accomplish them, it will be impossible without God.

Marriage Classes:  For over a year the community has been asking us to teach classes on marriage and family. So, although that is extremely out of our comfort zone (all the couples are older than us!) we started! We will facilitate a 7 week pilot marriage class to 5 couples in the community - with the hope that we can raise them up to lead their neighbors. It was very exciting to see the couples interacting and doing the exercises and discussions in the class. I believe God is going to use this in a mighty way to strengthen families in our communities!

THANK YOU to all of you who are living sacrificially in order to be a part of the incredible things God is doing at El Ayudante and in our communities. We are honored to serve with you by being here on the ground. We covet your prayers and friendship.

Love, Tristan, Beth, Sigel, Maddy, & Ali
