Traveling with 2 little people on a red-eye flight is a bit challenging - needless to say, we were all tired when we finally arrive in Tegucigalpa! After being up all day and packing and finishing up last minute things, we headed to the airport around 9pm - upon arrival at the airport, we were informed that we had too many bags and had to eliminate half of them due to a luggage embargo! what!!! I had called the airlines months before to check how many we got, and they apparently told me wrong. so yes, we were the people with the luggage strewn all over the floor as we attempted to repack and eliminate bags. the girls were on the floor on a blanket - and actually that was the first time Ali rolled over - I looked over and there she was, on her tummy! her first roll and we missed it due to re-packing. thankfully the airlines did help us out a bit and gave us extra weight and we were able to make it all work, but it was a stressful hour. maddy and Ali didn't sleep until we were boarded our first flight at 12:30am. we arrive in Houston at 3:30am our time and slept on the floor as best as we could for another couple hours, grabbed some breakfast and boarded our last plane! the whole last flight maddy was asking about Bro-Bro (Sigel), but because she was so tired and it took over an hour to go through customs, Maddy fell asleep in her stroller (head to her knees) and missed the excitement of saying hello :(. It was very very nice to see Sigel! our friend Jeff drove Sigel and our truck to the airport to pick us up and the ridiculous amount of luggage that we had. :)
maddy in the cockpit with the pilot's hat! :)
these are pirate boots that Sigel asked for ... he was thrilled with them! Thanks Nana :)
A few days after we got home we decorated our Christmas tree!
Maddy preferred to decorate herself more than the tree.
we're all happy to be home! maddy had a blast getting back to home and seeing her old friends. Her spanish came back right away and she's talking up a storm - in both languages. Sigel is happy to have us back and we're all adjusting to being a family again - and it's going better than we expected. we've been working at catching back up with all the happenings of El Ayudante and with our neighbors and friends and church and seeing what we missed etc. We also have a huge month of January so we're working to prepare for that so we're ahead of it all when it comes.
