I can't believe that Sigel is now 15! He looks like a teen
now – not like a kid, pretty soon he'll be starting to shave! You know there's
a teenager in the house when he opens up his bedroom door from getting ready
for school and his cologne and deodorant smell wafts through the whole house.
:)
We've been celebrating his birthday for a week now – after
the team left, we stayed at the Marriot Hotel because they have an AMAZING
American breakfast buffet that Sigel loves. So we all played hookie from life
and walked around the mall, went to Sigel's favorite restaurant, played at the
pool, ordered in pizza, and then Tristan took Sigel and Santos out to a 'guy'
movie at the theatres (we hardly ever go to the theatre) while I stayed at the
hotel with the girls and my friends Jenny and Miranda came and hung out with
me. The next morning we swam right up until check out and then headed home.
On his actual birthday (Tuesday the 23rd), he had
school and Taekwondo and then had a bunch of friends over for more pizza and
they played Wii all evening.
We're not sure why, but special days (birthdays, holidays,
etc) are always hard on Sigel – he's usually angry and tries subconsciously to
sabotage that persons day – Praise God – this was the best 'special day' we've
had in the 3 ½ years with Sigel!!! Usually Tristan and I are working so hard
all day to keep the peace and make the day ok – but this birthday was fabulous
and before he went to bed he said thank you and that the day was exactly what
he had hoped for!!! it was the best thing to hear and totally made all the work
of a week long celebration worth it!
