Tela vacation!

This week we went up to the north coast of Honduras to visit the beach of Tela for a fabulous 4 days of vacation! We went with our friends the Horsts - also missionaries here in Honduras - who have 3 kids that Sigel and Maddy love to play with! We rented a house a little ways out of town that had a pool on the back porch. We divided our time between the beach and the pool - swimming lots!!! Sigel loved having other kids to swim with (above he is the 'target' and they are throwing water ball on his face) and Maddy spent her time throwing things into the pool and asking people to pull it out again so she could throw it again :). We also brought with us a baby pool for maddy to play in right next to the big pool (the big kids enjoyed the baby pool too because it was warmer :) ). The beach was a block away from our house and the water was lovely! The kids (and Dad's) rode the waves forever! Maddy loved having a giant sand box to play in (except she did find a pair of underwear buried in the sand that she brought to me --yuck!)- and wasn't too sure about the waves and the salty water. I enjoyed the sun, the water, and watching my kids having such a great time. One night the Horsts kid-sat for us and Tristan and I went on a date - it was wonderful - we ate fish and shrimp on the beach at sunset.

It was a really wonderful and relaxing 4 days!

( Sigel is in an 'anti-smile' stage - believe it or not - he's having fun :) lol)
