medical, vbs, and construction

We are half way through our biggest and probably most difficult team. It’s a team from Vero Beach Florida and the reason it’s difficult is because of how large the team is – we number 90 in all! This 90 includes the team, eye doctors, medical doctors from the states, Honduran Drs, 14 translators, and us! The team is split into construction, pharmacy, medical, eye, paint crew, and a VBS crew. Lots is being done!!!
Monday the medical team saw 500 patients and gave away all the free medicine that they needed, and then yesterday they saw around 600 patients! The eye Dr’s are giving away lots of glasses and drops as well. We are expecting the same amount of numbers today and tomorrow as well! So probably by the end they will have seen over 2000 patients.
Maddy and I are on the VBS team – it’s lots of fun to be with the kids. I was asked to lead the singing! I thought they were joking – obviously they have never heard me sing before . But there I am – leading schools in some fun kid songs. The VBS has been doing games, crafts, and then a puppet show and it has gone really well! Yesterday was pretty chaotic as we were in a school of 360 students and there were only 4 translators including me so we were scrambling trying to keep up with all the groups. Today we are at a special needs school – ½ of the students are deaf and ½ have some kind of disability. It’ll be a great day! Maddy does really great with all the chaos – naps have been hard but she still does well – no huge meltdowns. If you look at the picture of all the kids – you’ll see Maddy in the bottom left hand corner in her blue dress – right in the middle of it all!
Sigel has school this week so he’s missing the ministry part but is enjoying swimming in the late afternoon and going out to ice cream in the evenings. 
Tristan is working with the pastor this week – driving, driving, and more driving – as they are running around delivering supplies, picking up the lunches and snacks to deliver to the various teams spread out in different locations, and to put out any fires. We’ve barely seen him all week!
That’s the long and short of it all so far. I’ll probably have more to say when we’re done with the week.
