Hot Dogs, pinatas, kids, families, construction

The team has been working so hard to get everything done that they want to get done to get the mission house done. It looks great! It has also been very exhausting - last night Tristan fell asleep around 7:30pm and we got to sleep in until 7:30am this morning. Show's how tired we were. The mornings have been at 5:30am.

Yesterday we brought 150 hotdogs, chip bags, cookies, and lots of candies and did a community day at the site. The men kept working mostly with some community men lending a hand and us women served the kids lunch and spent time with the kids. One lady on the team is fluent in spanish and she spent the whole afternoon under the tree with the mom's - teaching them about Jesus. There was a soccer game going on all afternoon with the teenage boys. Some kids were helping with the construction, some of the ladies grabbed brooms and were helping sweep. We also had a pinata for the kids which was very fun. It's not a party in Honduras unless there is a pinata. The thing I love about the community being around and helping is that they love the what is happening at El Ayudante and they want to be a part in helping create it by lending a hand when they can. I had a fun time hanging out with the kids. They are so excepting and gracious people!

Beth and Tristan - Tears come to my eyes as I read this. THIS is what you were born for. I bet you will soon be like that lady teaching about Jesus under a tree in Spanish. And Tristan, God has blessed you with such a sharp mind and ready hands you will be leading Hondurans in building homes, Honduran style. I wish I was with you!!
