House Hunting & Feeding Program

So we've been here for less than a week, yet it feels like much longer :). We are pretty settled in at our friend/pastors house. John and Adrianna have two kids - a 7 and 5 year old. We've been having grand times playing creative adventure games on the trampoline with them. We have also been house hunting. this is the first time that we have gone house hunting together. Yesterday we picked up a real estate agent (that's how they do it around here) and she took us to 4 houses. All of them had their pro's and con's. One of them is beautiful and huge and out of town on a quiet street. It might be too big, it's a bit secluded which is tough because I don't have a car and everything would be a drive from there. But it's on the way up the mountain to the town where we will minister at. Another is in town, but our truck is way too big to fit in the garage (by 4 feet!). It was my favorite because there was lots of wood in it and the tile work is wow! The others were on the wrong side of town. We're trying to stay closer to the side that we are ministering at so that we have less driving, however there are few houses available on this side.

Today we went up to Valle De Angeles to meet with Leonie (she's great - she's a Jewish Pentecostal Brit that speaks Spanish with a English accent) - she is the head of an organization called Seeds of Change which we will be partnering with. We were able to hear her heart, see where she wants to go and talk with her staff. They have a huge vision and passion for working with the poor. We also went with them to one of their projects - and fed 80 children out of the back of the truck in a very poor neighborhood. It was great and heart breaking at the same time. We're figuring out how our relationship with the ministry will work.

Please pray that we find the perfect house and have the the wisdom to know where to look and where to live.

Where do you get enough food to feed 80 children?? Did you cook it?? I can not wait to come and see for myself all that you are doing. It does not surprise me that you jumped right in to help. You are both amazing!!!

Hi Guys! Well it looks like you made it, what a trek. I've been following your blog with great interest and praying for you. Did you find a place to live yet? Will be looking forward to future posts and will continue to pray for you too. You guys are terrific and I hope the locals see as much Christ in you as I do! Loved in Him, Scott Oliveria
