Anyways, Nick, an 8th grader, was telling me about his experiences in Tijuana in October. He went with a church group and built a house there for three days. How awesome. So he was full of wisdom and said that people look at places like Mexico and Honduras as bad because they are different and that scares people. He said to me "people need to realize that they are not bad - they are just poor." I think that is so wise. Just because things are different from what we are used to, we get scared away from it. In our missions training that we attended they talked about how we in the U.S. call other places primitive. Well they might be primitive according to our life, however they have very advanced things and ways of doing things that works well for them - and for them it is not primitive. Yet we judge by how it is in the U.S. I think it's great that Nick at 13 understands people - they are not bad, just different from us, just poor.
