Wow - isn't Honduras beautiful!!!!!

A couple of weekends ago I went with Jonny and pastor john to a pueblo called La Nueva Union, Lempira. The town is about 5 hours from Tegucigalpa, 2.5 hours on pavement and 2.5 on crazy mountain dirt roads. We got out of school early on Friday and left in the morning. On the way we hit some crazy traffic, everyone in our direction stopped, but there was NO-ONE coming the other way. So we took advantage of the empty lane and traveled on the wrong side of the road for several MILES!!! Then some cars started to come in their own lane (well really their lane and we were in their way), we could not get back into our lane because of the solid stopped traffic, so we ventured onto the shoulder of the wrong side of the road. After traveling a wile longer on the wrong side of the road, we came to an impossible situation; traffic in the other lane was now using their lane and their shoulder. So what were we to do now??? Oh of coarse go down the embankment and drive in the ditch. It was a crazy half an hour. Finally we got onto the shoulder on our side of the road, and passed a Semi full of BEER that had gotten jackknifed and blocked the whole road. After stopping for lunch and picking up some supplies for the town we arrived there around 4:30. We went to attend a pastoral training that Pastor John was giving. The training was in Spanish of course, so Jonny and I had our work cut out for us. We had a really good time and we do a pretty good job understanding gringos speaking in Spanish. The training was really good but on the second day John was a little sick and had to use el baƱo while he was walking out he told Jonny and I to go up and give our testimonies in Spanish, it was hard but we think we did a good job. The town was really pretty, and the views from the roads were amazing!!! We could see miles and miles of mountains, sky, and dirt roads. Well we had a great time and we hope to go again. (Today I translated the teacher devotional!!! Pretty cool eehh!)
