We got home from Antigua safe and quickly. We left at 5am and got home around 8pm. Our friend Rocio was visiting her in-laws in a little town along the way home so we stopped and saw her. It was at least 120 degrees (not really but it felt like it) there and hardly a breeze! This is a small town that is far from everything and they make all of their own food. They have a mill and grind their own corn and flour etc. So, they fed us a traditional drink that I don't remember the name of - but it was hot and thick - full of ground grains. Then you add papaya sweetened with sugar cane to it. So, here we are in a fully enclosed room - no breeze, 120 degrees, slurping this hot liquid. We were all sweating bullets :). But it was so nice of them to share their food with us. And it was a nice break from our driving.
We got stopped at a police check point and a police officer was going to make a bogus ticket up for us because we are gringos, and take away Tristan's license, but thankfully Dania ( our Honduran friend) was in the car with us and argued with him until he let us go - with Tristan's license. Good thing she was with us!
