Well we had another day off of school today. This time we didn't have school because the sewage system backed up into the courtyard where the kids play and there were no working toilets. Unfortunately this means that we are making up another day at the end of the year. At the rate of classes that we are missing, I think we're going to be teaching until July! :)
Tristan and I have been promoted to principals for the week. Both the high school and elementary principals are leaving in the morning to attend a training in Guatemala. This is quite intimidating for us to be put in charge of the other teachers. We are responsible for approving their tests, copy requests, make sure there are subs for missing teachers, and make sure that all the little fires are put out during the week. Please pray for us! Hopefully the school will still be standing and there will still be students in the school by Friday. (Tristan has the power to suspend and is planning on using that tomorrow on his bad kids so he doesn't have to deal with them for the rest of the week :) ).
The time is flying by so quickly! It's already coming up on Thanksgiving which means Christmas is just around the corner. We are having a big Thanksgiving dinner at school with all the teachers and staff next week - and somehow I volunteered myself to decorate for it...not my strong suite. This Sunday we're having a Thanksgiving dinner with the other North American's and some Honduran friends and that should be fun. We just decided tonight that we're (some other teachers and us) going to travel El Salvador for those 4 days. We're pretty excited about it!
Tristan and I are pet sitting for a missionary couple who are back in the states for two weeks. We're watching "Max" who is much much smaller than our Max at home. It's funny - the house is big ( 3 bedrooms) and we're feeling a little lost - in our house you can sit anywhere and see the rest of the house. Here...there's more than two rooms! They even have a washer and dryer, which we're excited about! And they have a grill ( so we're BBQing tomorrow). We've been missing the ability to entertain because of our small apartment - so, I think we'll be busy the next two weeks! Oh - and they have hot water too! (ours broke last week - and showers have been very cold!)

wow i can't believe you guys were promoted to principals. that is awesome. it could be a reality tv show, too "principal for a day, the mohagen reality" - it does sound like you will be teaching until july (or august) with all of these "days off"...
anyway, i miss you both and love these updates.
enjoy the washer and dryer, they are gifts from the Lord! :)
